Trekking in the Annapurna Region

Bryn Thomas was born in Zimbabwe, where he grew up on a farm. His wanderlust began early with camping holidays by the Indian Ocean on Mozambique, and journeys to game parks in other parts of Africa.

Since graduating from Durham University with a degree in Anthropology, travel on four continents has included a Saharan journey in a home built kit-car, a solo 2500km Andean cycling trip, and 40,000km of rail travel in Asia.

In 1989 his first guide, the Trans-Siberian Handbook , was shortlisted for the Thomas Cooke Guidebook Of The Year awards.

He has travelled widely on the Indian subcontinent, and is co-author of Lonely Planet's India and Britain guides.

He first trekked in Nepal in 1983, and has since visited the Annapurna region seven times.
